Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY)

To develop the GPs having Population of 3000-5000 for plain areas & 1000-3000 for Hilly areas as Adarsh Village.

Funds Provision

• 100% convergence scheme.
• The development of model villages, called Adarsh Grams, through the implementation of existing schemes in convergence mode, and certain new initiatives to be designed for the local context, which may vary from village to village.
• Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district is the Nodal Officer of the Scheme.

Process

• Hon’ble MPs identify one GP every year from his/her constituency but not own or spouse’s.
• Village Development Plan (VDP) on local needs formulated by the Village level working group and is approved by the District Level Committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner (Nodal Officer). One charge officer for each GPs is appointed by the DC for uploading and execution of VDP.
• State Level Empowered Committee consisting of all Administrative Secretaries under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary reviews the implementation.
