MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT LOCAL AREA DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES (MPLADS)

Launched: 23.12.1993
Funding Pattern: 100% Central Govt.
Objective: To recommend works of developmental nature with emphasize on the creation of durable community assets, based on locally felt needs to be taken by MPs in their constituencies.
Entitlement: Rs.5.00 cr. per MP per annum (2 equal instalments)
Priority works: Drinking water, Primary Education, Public Health, Sanitation and Roads, etc. as per permissible works.
Fund flow: The Govt. of India released funds directly to DC of the Nodal District of MPs concerned. 22.5% expenditure on SC habited area is mandatory. Rs. 50 Lakhs permitted for trust/ Societies, Rs. 10 Lakhs for Differently Abled welfare works in a Financial Year
